Dear Supporters,

We’re grateful to share BLK South’s 2025 Annual Report.

This past year marked a significant season of transition for us. We relocated to Durham, rooted our lives and work in the Historic Hayti District, and continued learning what it means to practice long-term, place-based community development with humility, care, and patience.

Rather than moving quickly or scaling prematurely, 2025 invited us into deeper presence—listening to elders, strengthening partnerships, and allowing the work to be shaped by the people and place we are committed to walking alongside. It was a year that clarified our limits, sharpened our focus, and reminded us that meaningful work is sustained through relationship, trust, and faithfulness over time.

This Annual Report offers a snapshot of that journey. Inside, you’ll find:

  • Highlights from our place-based work in the Grant Street Community

  • Reflections on formation spaces like Soulwork

  • Moments of public engagement and advocacy

  • An overview of our finances and early-stage sustainability

  • A look ahead at where we’re headed and what we’re building toward

We’re sharing this report not as a declaration of arrival, but as an honest accounting of where we are—what we’ve learned, what we’re carrying, and what continues to take shape.

We’re deeply thankful to the donors, partners, elders, neighbors, and friends who made this year possible. Your trust, generosity, and belief in the long work of community care sustain BLK South in ways both seen and unseen.

You can read and explore the full 2025 Annual Report above.

Thank you for walking with us.
